Our home base
We are based in Matara, on Pubudu Mawatha, and this is where most of our lessons start. Beginners learn on the mellow sand-bottom waves at SK Town on the west side of the city; everything else is a short tuk-tuk away.

Madiha sits ten minutes west of our base and holds two reefs: a long right-hand wall and a shallow, serious left. We coach intermediates and above here, and bring beginners to the sand nearby rather than onto the reef.

Polhena is the calm, white-sand bay just west of Matara, better known for its turtles than its surf. The reefs sit on either side of it, which makes it a gentle place to start and an easy walk to something steeper.

We are not a Weligama school and we will not pretend otherwise. We drive here, about thirty minutes from Matara, when the bay is the right call for you — usually a first lesson on the softest beach break on this coast.

We train at Mirissa regularly, about twenty minutes by tuk-tuk from Matara. The beach break in front of town picks up more size than Weligama, which suits surfers who have their pop-up and want a wave with some push in it.
